Join Rev Padma Devi Sumananda the Founder & President of Heart Of Living Yoga Foundation for Satsang and a short talk about the Heart Of Living Yoga's charitable work. Followed by Kirtan led by Elise Yuill Cohen.

"When I met Padma Devi Sumananda I was seeking a charity that felt like a cause I could give to through my music. I sat and listened in amazement to her story of how the Heart Of Living Yoga Foundation charity began, set up during the civil war in Sri Lanka, supporting orphans and hungry families who had no food. Then expanding into educating children right through to university level where they are becoming doctors, teachers, lawyers. They care for elders who are left without their sons to support them... 89,000 widows under the age of 24 were left without a husband. And their works just goes on and on... and grows and grows... it spread into India, to the UK and Brazil. And more projects across the globe are starting all the time.

Before me sat a woman creating real change in the world. Grassroots help straight to the people who need it most, the poorest people on our planet. Right there I knew I'd found a cause I wanted to devote time, energy and resources to, and I pledged in my heart to be a musical ambassador for them. So please join us on August 28th in Devon to celebrate their astonishing efforts, raise some funds to contribute to their much needed work in the world, and of course to sing glorious uplifting heart expanding sacred songs and mantras together! I look forward to welcoming you with all my heart."

Kirtan is a heart and voice centred yoga practice from the Bhakti Yoga tradition (the path of love and devotion). At Kirtan we come together to sing spiritually uplifting mantra chants and devotional songs.

Elise's unique approach to Kirtan weaves original contemporary melodies with mantras from various yoga traditions, as well as sacred songs inspired by multi faith global influences of sacred music and devotional singing.

Experience the joy of group devotional singing - a unique co-creation of sacred sound. With easy to follow melodies, no singing experience or technique is necessary - this is Yoga for Your Heart and Voice! You do not need to feel like a "singer" to join in!
