I became a music ambassador for this wonderful charity in 2018 after meeting their director; Reverend Padma Devi Sumananda, at a yoga festival. I have since made a mantra album called “Lakshmi” for healing, meditation and singing along to. Upon release in July 2019, you will be able to purchase this album from my website knowing that 50% of the proceeds are going to be donated to the Heart Of Living Yoga Foundation, helping some of the poorest children in the world and their families. On their behalf, thank you for your support.

The charity has been running projects in Sri Lanka for the past 12 years to give nourishment and extra education to the poorest children and financially supporting those children who now go to university. The charity takes special care of women-led families who survive on next to nothing, and they also support the elders who have no surviving children to take care of them as well as the adults with special needs. They have a very special partnership, working together with the Holistic Special Education Foundation and Special Yoga UK to train the parents and teachers of children with special needs, as well as midwives and ayurvedic doctors - and this programme is now spreading nationwide all over Sri Lanka.

In India, the charity is supporting an after school educational programme for the very poorest children in the Rishikesh district and also a progressive school which gives a first rate education to the children who live in the slums. The newest project is to support a mountain village in its aims to improve life for all the residents.

In Brazil the charity is proud to support a children's home which has 60 day care children as well as the residential ones, and an indigenous tribal school that teaches the children of several different tribes within their own culture about the medicinal and healing plants of the Amazon jungle and also Jennifer's Library - a very special 13 year old in the jungle who is providing library facilities for all the local children.

In the U.K. the Heart Of Living Yoga Teachers go into schools in deprived areas to share yoga and heart meditation with the children and the teachers, who are all very stressed. They also go into prisons and school exclusion units where their yoga & meditation techniques are also very helpful.

With your support, love and prayers, all this is possible ... and so we thank you!

SRI LANKA - MARCH 2019

Before heading into the recording studio to make the Lakshmi album, I made my first visit with Padma to North Sri Lanka, where the charity was born. We visited many homes of the most impoverished families. Our priorities for this visit were women led families, special needs children and those with physical disabilities, bringing them aid of all kinds. We also laid foundation stones for a new community building in the village, opened a special needs unit at a school, and visited one of the schools that receives the Sunshine Programme, which brings children 2 hours a day of extra tuition in Tamil, English, maths and science, plus a much-needed nutritious meal and a yoga class! I was moved to tears many times. One of my eye-opening moments was realising how far money goes in Sri Lanka, with life changing effect. Just £200 can support a student at university for a whole year.
